The Musical Fidelity M6si500 is a high-performance integrated amplifier designed to deliver a unique combination of power, refinement, and control. Capable of outputting an impressive 500 watts per channel into 8 ohms, this amplifier offers much more than sheer force—it pairs its power with a remarkably fluid, dynamic, and natural musicality. Evolved from a concept first introduced over twenty-five years ago with the legendary A1000—Musical Fidelity’s original “super integrated”—the M6si500 stands today as a complete separate system housed in a single chassis.

Its internal layout follows a true dual-mono design: each channel features its own dedicated transformer and heatsink, while the preamplifier benefits from a separate power supply winding, ensuring optimal isolation and performance. Each channel employs twelve high-powered bipolar transistors, delivering an extraordinary current capacity with up to 200 amps peak-to-peak. This configuration allows the M6si500 to drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with ease, maintaining absolute control and a linear response across the entire frequency spectrum.

Build quality is exceptionally robust and carefully engineered. The front panel is crafted from a military-grade aluminium extrusion, while the custom-designed heatsinks provide not only superior thermal dissipation but also a refined aesthetic. The five inputs—four RCA line and one balanced XLR—are connected directly to the main preamp circuit board without additional wiring, minimizing signal path impedance. Volume is controlled via a precision digital attenuator using laser-trimmed resistors, ensuring perfect channel tracking even at very low listening levels.

The result of this meticulous engineering is world-class technical performance: total harmonic distortion remains around 0.008% at 1kHz, rises slightly to 0.015% at 20kHz, and stays under 0.02% even at extreme frequencies between 30 and 50kHz. The signal-to-noise ratio is exceptionally high, contributing to a clean and immersive listening experience. The soundstage is wide, deep, and three-dimensional, with a tonal balance that is silky, precise, and always under control—even during the most complex musical passages.
