The SVS PB-5000 R|Evolution is an active bass reflex subwoofer engineered to reproduce the deepest frequencies with exceptional output, precision, and control while maintaining a consistently linear response, even during the most demanding listening sessions. Designed for both high-performance Home Theater and premium Hi-Fi systems, it combines extended low-frequency performance, dynamic impact, and tonal accuracy.

At the heart of the system is a 15-inch front-firing driver specifically developed to handle extreme excursion without compromising precision. The cone is made from a glass fiber composite, a material selected for its excellent stiffness-to-mass ratio, allowing it to move large volumes of air while maintaining linear behavior and high efficiency. A high-excursion SBR catenary surround ensures stable piston-like motion even during the most demanding transients, helping reduce distortion and preserve low-frequency definition.

The driver assembly features a two-piece toroidal ferrite magnetic motor combined with dual edge-wound aluminum voice coils. This configuration increases magnetic flux density, improves heat dissipation, and provides exceptionally accurate cone control, delivering powerful yet precise bass reproduction even at the highest listening levels.

Power is supplied by the Dual Mono STA-2000D amplifier platform, capable of delivering 2,000 watts RMS and more than 5,000 watts of peak power. The design employs eight high-current discrete Class D MOSFET transistors, with each amplifier module dedicated to driving one of the driver's dual voice coils. This architecture maximizes the driver's capabilities while providing substantial power reserves, instantaneous transient response, and precise control of cone excursion.

The amplifier is powered by a switching power supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC), designed to stabilize the incoming voltage, improve energy efficiency, and reduce electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference through an integrated line-conditioning system. Cooling is achieved entirely through convection using an enclosure optimized with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), eliminating the need for external heatsinks while maintaining consistent performance during extended high-output operation.

System management is handled by a 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP that continuously monitors amplifier operating parameters, including voltage, current, and temperature, optimizing power delivery in real time. High-performance DACs with a 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio minimize background noise and increase overall dynamic range while preserving signal integrity.

All adjustments are accessible through the SVS Subwoofer Control app, available for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire devices. The app allows control of volume, phase, polarity, crossover frequency, Room Gain Compensation, cabinet tuning modes, and six parametric equalizers. The integrated SVS Auto EQ function uses the microphone of a compatible smartphone or an optional external microphone to analyze the room's acoustics and automatically apply precise equalization, compensating for peaks, nulls, and other room-induced anomalies to achieve seamless integration with the loudspeaker system.

The enclosure is constructed from high-density MDF with extensive internal bracing and a 50 mm thick front baffle, minimizing resonance and unwanted vibrations even during the reproduction of the lowest frequencies. Three flared 3.5-inch bass reflex ports promote high airflow with minimal turbulence, increasing dynamic headroom while maintaining clean and controlled bass performance.

The design offers three different acoustic configurations to adapt the subwoofer's performance to the listening environment and installation requirements. Standard mode operates with all three ports open, providing a frequency response from 15 Hz to 180 Hz. Extended mode uses two open ports to extend low-frequency response down to 13 Hz, while Sealed mode closes all ports, converting the enclosure into an acoustic suspension design with a frequency response from 16 Hz to 270 Hz, prioritizing speed and bass accuracy.

The package includes screw-in elastomer feet designed to reduce vibration transfer to the floor and minimize unwanted room interactions, along with a heavy-duty ABS front grille that protects the driver without affecting its acoustic performance.
